THE FOUNDING PARTNERS
Wholistic Transformation Resource Center (WTRC) and PepsiCo Philippines are founding partners of Waterhope. A serendipitous introduction between the two founding partners started in 2005. The values and missions of both organizations were a perfect match. Whilst the focus of WTRC is empowering the poor, the PepsiCo has the commitment to Performance with Purpose, which is about its corporate promise to deliver sustainable shareholder growth by investing in a healthier future for people and our world, with particular focus on Water and Nutrition.
DAVID BUSSAU, the man who started it all
Hope for a better life is everyone’s aspiration. As it was for David Bussau, an Australian born in the 1940’s, abandoned and left at an Anglican Boys’ home, to become a very successful businessman by the time he reached 35 years. With many successful business ventures to his credit, he retired following the “economics of enough”, to win recently the Senior Australian of the Year Award and the Australian Entrepreneur of the Year Award. After retirement, David devoted his time giving back, helping the less fortunate with worldwide aid work, establishing numerous private foundations, organizations and networks for wealth creation and entrepreneurship to combat poverty. One such foundation is the Wholistic Transformation Resource Center (WTRC), which David founded in 1998, from which comes the Waterhope project.
